Creating a Lasting Legacy
Standing with Tibetan communities in exile — today and for generations to come.
For over 60 years, the Tibet Relief Fund has worked in partnership with Tibetan people in Tibet and those living in exile in India and Nepal. A gift in your Will helps this continue.
Leave a lasting legacy
For over 60 years, the Tibet Relief Fund has worked alongside Tibetan communities in exile in India and Nepal — supporting them to rebuild their lives with dignity, resilience and hope.
By leaving a gift in your Will, you can help ensure this work continues for generations to come.
It is a way of standing with exiled Tibetan communities into the future — supporting education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods, while helping to preserve a rich and enduring culture.
Why your legacy matters
The Tibetan communities living in exile we work with have shown extraordinary strength in the face of displacement and uncertainty. Our role is not to lead, but to support — responding to needs identified by the communities themselves.
A gift in your Will helps us to continue this long-term commitment. It enables us to plan ahead, to respond where the need is greatest, and to remain present for as long as we are needed.
Your legacy could help to:
Support children and young people to access education
Provide healthcare and care for vulnerable older people
Strengthen self-reliance through sustainable projects
Protect and preserve Tibetan culture and identity
Types of gifts you can leave
A residuary gift
A share of your estate once you have provided for family and friends. This is a popular option, as it keeps its value over time.
A pecuniary gift
A specific gift
How to include a gift in your Will
Including a gift to the Tibet Relief Fund in your Will is straightforward.
All you need to do is share our details with your solicitor when writing or updating your Will. We recommend using a qualified solicitor to ensure your wishes are clearly recorded and legally valid.
Charity name: Tibet Relief Fund
Address: 68a Rocheter Place, London NW1 9JX
Registered charity number: 1061834
If you already have a Will, you can add a gift by using a simple amendment known as a codicil.
Writing or updating your Will
Making a Will allows you to take care of those close to you, while also supporting causes that reflect your values.
If you would like to make or update your Will, we recommend speaking with a solicitor to ensure your wishes are clearly recorded and legally valid.
You can find a solicitor through the The Law Society.
Tax considerations
Gifts to UK registered charities are exempt from Inheritance Tax. In some cases, leaving 10% or more of your estate to charity may reduce the overall rate of tax applied to your estate.
As circumstances vary, we recommend seeking advice from a solicitor or financial advisor, or visiting HM Revenue and Customs for further information.
A lasting expression of your values
After you have provided for your loved ones, a gift in your Will is a meaningful way to continue supporting what matters most to you.
Your legacy can help ensure that Tibetan communities continue to thrive—with dignity, resilience and cultural strength—for many years to come.
